Women’s day

I got nothing much to say about this day, and I’m sure there are so many posts was written about this anyway, so I’ll stick to my usual post with the exception of adding more music.

Here are the songs from female singers whom I admire the most.

1: Sophie B. Hawkins – As I Lay Me Down

This song never fail to calm me and feels embrace by sweet love

2: Wilson Phillips – Hold On

These three women and their powerful words is all I needed when things feels to hard.

3: Carpenters – Rainy Days And Mondays

Whenever I feel like moping and drown myself in self-pity haha 😀

And here’s the song when I feel like living in a era I’ve never been but felt like I belong:

Mary Hopkin – Those Were The Days (1969)

Now let me end this post with RavennaAl comment in Youtube:

We’ve gone from the innocence of the 50’s to the radical 60’s to the mellow 70’s to the self indulgence 80’s to the high tech 90’s to the I can’t believe I’m still here 2000’s, to the what’s the hell is going on 2010’s to the shit has really hit the fans 2020’s. What a life!

“I’d give a lot if I can go travel back to the 90s when cellphones already exist but human still talks face to face.” -Yours truly, Jessica. I hope you all have a great day.

A great collection of songs. I had never heard of the first two songs, or the artists, but they are both quite talented. The last two songs are classics, thanks for the reminder. Hope you had a nice Women’s Day!

I had. Thanks Jim. The first two are from the 90s I think. I don’t keep track since I never really care what decades as long as like them. Glad that I did the reminding this time, because I feel like you’re posting more songs I like and forgot 🥰

Sophie B. Hawkins’ As I Lay Me Down is my favourite song from the 1990s.

Her singing voice reminds me of the speaking voice of a woman I used to have a total crush on.

      Her name was Nicole.

In fact I wrote a poem about her called Nicole back in January or February of this year.

Her speaking voice was as soft and melodious as Sophie B. Hawkins singing As I Lay Me Down.

She looked like a young Julia Roberts (as she appeared in the movie Pretty Woman with Richard Gere) – a Julia Roberts with sandy blonde hair instead of reddish brunette hair like Miss Roberts had.

She liked me too but I never got the courage to ask her out.

Sometimes I still ask myself, “How does it feel to be an idiot?” since I never asked her out.

She sounds wonderful Chris. I’m sorry know I shouldn’t but the way you told the story and mocked yourself made me laugh out hard. 🤣
I don’t I’ve read that poem yet. I’ll check it out later 🙂

      Thanks Ribby! 💓
Yes, as I people use to say themselves everything too much is bad. Just as too much cellphone use is bad or tv, or internet. No matter if I like them
