[repost] Skates are Fiction
I seemed to be running out of time every day lately. It’s bedtime before I know it, and I feel like I have done nothing productive. Which made me think as I looked out of in the silence of the night in Benidorm how different my life now compared to when I was a child.
Back when my brother and I lay on the grass and looking at the dark starry night and dreams of shoes with wheels and asphalted road like it was something out of our fantasy.
Skates are fiction

Yes, back in the early ’90s when people in the west goes around with cellphones in hand, me and my brother (and best friend at the time) thought roller skates was fiction.
Years later. Here I am at 28 (back at 2012) living my in my childhood fantasy in another country.

Have a Fun Friday!

I sure will, when the lockdown is over and after buying a new one because sadly, these wheels were stolen 😢
Simon
why did they left the shoe and stole the wheels alone 🙄 strange theft 🤪
Jessica E. Larsen
No they stole it. They took the whole box with our stuff. Our skate was in there :'(
Simon

Skates for me was an adventure 🤪

Haha 😀 I was better with a bike. Learned it after 8 hours and never had an accident until years later when I tried riding it down the hills on ice…

How do we know those childhood activities would turn into nostalgia some day. Skating was so much fun years back. Thank you for reviving those memories through your post! 🙂
Jessica E. Larsen
Yes, it’s unbelievable what can bring nostalgia. Although mine is more the dream haha 😁
Thanks for dropping by ☺

Childhood memories are always nostalgic. Roller skating is a beautiful art. Beautiful to see people skating through the street. It is a rare scene in our place. I fear to skate as a child, may be I slip down. Your pics are pretty enough. Cute girl 😍💕❤️

Thanks Olivia. 😄
I don’t think I would dare skate in India, especially not using the outfit I’m wearing. I won’t even do it in my own country. It’s only because I feel safer in Spain.
Still two weeks after learning to skate, I broke three fingers from falling. Ouch 😨
Tushara Olivia
So your native place is not Spain? Then where? Ohh 3 fingers. 😰 That aches a lot to learn a spot😓
Jessica E. Larsen
Haha 😀 I’m only partly Spanish by blood, but I grew up in the Philippines.
It did hurt a lot 😥 but I didn’t realize how broken they were until we were home 2 hours later. It was swollen and I couldn’t move them 😀 It was because I felt too confident and experimented before mastering the wheels.
Karma 😂

That’s good to think say😊

Haven’t skated in years. Enjoy them.

Me too! The skates I wore here was left behind in a companion’s garage and said companion did not inform us when everything in the garage was “thrown away” (I doubt they never check the box contents) I miss it 🙁
