Another Teaser

More NaNoWriMo update! Today I’m here to share another tidbit of this time travel romance story. In Another Time.

“Wait, abuela!” Leonardo said. He raise both hands up in surrender, but Isabela will have none of it. The word, abuela wouldn’t let her. This was personal now.

“I’m not going to let a trespasser do what he wants when I’m around!” she declared and wildly trash the hangers. She chased Leonardo out of the bedroom and down the stairs.

He was at the bottom of the stairs when Leonardo stopped and grabbed her wrist. “Okay, I’m sorry for calling you abuela, but you look like her, at least when she was younger.”

Leonardo let go and she let her hand down. Leonardo, doesn’t seem dangerous at all. “You must know your grandmother’s name no?”

Leonardo looked at her. “Her full name is Maria Estella Isabel Jurado Portes.”

Her face felt hot. She went back to chasing him out with the hanger. He walked backward through the corridor while covering his face.

“I don’t know what’s going on. I thought this is a dream but I’m telling you the truth! And I live in this house.” One of the hangers whacked his head as Leonardo lowered his hand to fumble in his pocket. Leonardo pulled out a key. The key of the house hanging on a keychain with three tiny pompoms. “This is my home too, abuela.

She tentatively walked up to him and took the key. She felt around her skirt and chuckled. “Nice try! You stole it out from my pocket.” She dropped it in her skirt and pointed the door using the hanger. “Out.”

Leonardo looked lost.

Abuela, please believe me,” he said and her heart warm up in the loving way he said ‘abuela’. Leonardo sounded desperate, but he says every word for her with affection. If she was an old woman, she would be glad to have him as her grandchild.

“I’m really sorry Leonardo, but you can’t be here. This isn’t even my house.”

“What the hell is going on,” Leonardo whispered while letting her pushed him out.

Once he was out, she closed the door again and pull out the key. She shake the ring and let the three yarn pompoms dance, one blue and two red pompoms. She made it the same day Alonso entrusted her with his spare key. It’s the one and only.

“Hm, he thinks he can fool me by showing the keys?” she laughed and froze when she noticed an identical keychain with pompoms hanging at mounted key holder beside the door. “Que?
