The one dance I refuse
I always took part in a school dance when I was in school.
I’d dance anything except Tinikling…
…because the first time I tried it, my foot got stuck between the bamboos! 😭
Plus, I’m too terrified to speed dance between large bamboo poles blindfolded!

The dance is called “tinikling” it’s a traditional Philippine folk dance which originated during the Spanish colonial era. The name “tinikling” is a reference to birds locally known as “tikling”. It imitates the movement of the tikling birds as they walk between grass stems, run over tree branches, or dodge bamboo traps set by rice farmers.

Oh my God. It is really frightening. You want a great deal of concentration it seems. If in a second your rhythm fail you will stumble and lose the track.😰😰

I remember performing on stage at school for various occasions…I was pretty bad but I luv to dance…nd yeah never attempted this tinikling thing…I watched it many times on tv but folk is something I always place at a distance…Never fond of that dance form somehow…But never knew it’s name is tinikling…Thanks for bringing this up…Childhood memories popping up hard:)Love jess:)
