Thapped [movie review]
I planned to post this last Friday, but life happens and this was not on schedule so no music Monday. Movie Monday instead 😀
Summary:
Amrita Sabharwal and Vikram have been happily married for several years. At a party to celebrate Vikram’s promotion Vikram gets a call informing him that his promotion contract has been compromised. Incensed, he gets into an argument. When Amrita tries to break up the argument, Vikram angrily slaps her in front of everyone. The incident leaves her shaken; she loses her self-respect and her love for Vikram.
My review
Love is not mandatory in marriage.
This movie is amazing. Heartfelt and touch very deeply into women’s issues in India. So many things seem too stupid for me, like how women has to suppress their desire, their passion because they got married.
Violence. Corruption and unfair justice. This film got it all.
Although, I did think that Amu should have given Vikram a second chance, I can’t imagine what I would have done if I was in her shoes. I’d probably retaliate kick him in the balls. Then give a chance, but Vikram seem a bit selfish, however, she should give him a chance to change.
On the other side he made me hate him when he went along with his lawyer to pay and asked the witnesses to shut up.
My favorite character in the story is Papa-ji (Amu’s dad) he’s such a loving father. And Amu’s lawyer. I love her as lawyer. She sucked when it comes to romance though. She should go from her husband if he isn’t making her happy… but what she did later I won’t say 😉
Amu’s brother made me cry in the end with his promise to his wife.
Thanks to Madhuri Sakhamuri for making me aware of this film. Read her Movie review here.

Aw thank you so much for the feedback. Yes, one of my favorite part of the movie is how the main heroine indirectly change everyone around her, not only the lawyer but also her mom, her brother and mother in law.
Sure, I’ll drop by as soon. It’s a mess here everyday so I barely have extra time 😄

Honestly I havent watched the movie but from the review…if a man ever hit me once (even in the spur of the moment) I’d be GONE IN A SECOND…well after I slap him at least once. Unless I’ve kids. I’d reconsider what I’ve to do
Jessica E. Larsen
Totally. As I said my knee between the legs first 😂
