Something More

I have no idea if he ever felt the same, but at some point, I’ve grown out from being a childhood friend into wanting something more. Something tender, something forbidden.

He has always been there for me. My first broken heart, when I lost my parents and every happy occasion. I thought that I’ll be content just by being his best friend but after discovering my feelings, this secret hurts.

He softly touched my cheek and pressed his forehead to mine. I can feel his breath on my skin. Ah, how I wanted to pull him closer.

“What’s wrong?” he asked.

Maybe the pent up emotion overflowed because before I know it my hands move on their own. I reached for the back of his neck and lift my chin. I touched his lips with mine. A fleeting moment. A small pleasure that came crashing down like a storm as I saw his shocked face. I wanted to cry but then he lowered his face, playfully grin and say “I thought I was the only one. Now, that it’s no longer secret, things will never be the same.” He kissed the tip of my nose. “I’ll never make you regret it.”

I backed away a bit. I’ve never been good with words but he made me feel complete. So, I smiled and got rewarded to see the same desire reflected in his eyes.

The song below inspired this story.
