Post by mistake
When your scheduled post messed up and it’s too late to change it because people already started liking and commenting, what’s your reaction?

Cuddle for treats, a short poem, should have posted today but as mention above, it’s too late.

I got that from NCIS. The character of Abby Sciuto used that word quite frequently for things being “off” or “goofy” or “f***** up.”

Haven’t seen a single episode of NCIS because when it was aired in Norway, we traveled a lot and got no time to follow a series. But I’ve been curious. I should give it a go soon.

That happens to me, too. Sometimes I’m in the middle of creating a post, when for some reason I accidentally hit a button that publishes it immediately. If I don’t notice it in time to unschedule, people start liking it and commenting. It’s kind of embarrassing.

Just pull it back into draft and finish it. I pull back, update, change art work all the time. The likes and comments are still there.

By updating a blog post once in a while, you make sure that it retains its usefulness. In most cases, you don’t need to completely overhaul it, just update and maybe update or change the art.

I am forever going back to posts to update something or, worse, replace a missing video or picture. Linking back to a video or picture can get broken at any moment.
There are many posts I’ve gone back and deleted.

In my case, no. It’s the web programmer in me. And, speaking of that, in WP’s desire to shove us (kicking and screaming) into this block editor bulls***, I’ve found that the Classic Editor is slowly losing functionality. It started two years ago when they did away with the “proofread” button. Now, if I don’t put in paragraph tags and line breaks, it all comes out wonky. Jerks.

I’ve given up on the Classic Editor. I understand that by 2022, it will no longer be supported.
The Block Editor does have a means for you to write code, if that’s what you want to do.

It’s not too bad. It takes a little learning. You can do more with it than with Classic, but it’s also kind of clunky and quirky to work with. And there are a few things you can do with Classic, that you can’t do with the Block Editor.

Oh no, I hate teaching computer to people. They never get it, and I’m lousy at teaching anyway, and I hate it. However, here is a youtube video that I found very helpful:
