Norway
I wrote this poem a year after I arrived in Europe, year 2005. Back when everything seemed so perfect in the country. Back in the days when I have no idea of what tormenting experience awaits me.
Have been in Norway?
If not, I can tell you a lot of things
If you search for the north pole,
It’s the second country.
It has high mountains.
High enough only clouds and no trees lived.
Lots of beautiful forests,
Deep lakes, and plenty of green landscapes.
Visit in the summer,
Experience daylight all day.
Watch the sunset at midnight,
Sight so romantic you won’t get enough.
You can wait all you want,
But total darkness won’t arrive.
Stay until winter
and the opposite will happen.
If you dream
Of a white Christmas
Just wait ’till midnight,
because Santa Claus is coming!
Please like it if you did. Feedback, critic, comment… whatever you call it is much appreciated.

Yay! Santa Claus 🎅 is coming ✨🤗 Beautiful poem describing Norway beautifully…😍 And i know the sunset never happens between certain period like April to Aug right? You live in that part? How do you feel when there is no sunset? You people spend more time outside? oops! Too much questions 🤪 Curiosity 😂 Have a beautiful day Jessica ✨🤗

Questions are fine Simon 🙂 No I don’t live in the North. I’m more in the south of Norway.
Not sure, if you’re joking with the other questions though…
The months you mentioned belong to two seasons. April and May belong to Spring. There’s sunset and sunrise at this time, in fact day and night becomes equal in one of the day in this season (same with autumn. Sept. to Nov.) June, July and August is summer, so that’s when midnight sun happens in the North. It’s in winter (right now) that they have no sunset but I swear I wish to be there because of the northern lights 😍
Simon
No I’m not joking 🤪 Wow, Northern lights must be exciting 😁 Must visit at least once😋 Thanks for answering all the questions.

You should! It’s magical. I only saw it once, and I don’t want it to be the last.

Merry Christmas Jessica ✨🎅

I think I’d much prefer to visit in the summer!

Yes, if it’s a good summer go straight to the north. Midnight sun is magnificent 🥰

Hi Jessica! Winter is best with palm trees, sunshine and beaches. Perfect Christmas, even though just a dream. This morning the sun finally peaked over the hill at 9:30 am touching the tops of the trees. I don’t know when it set, got cloudy this afternoon. At least it was nice and mild today. Any snow yet??😁😸⛄🎄
Jessica E. Larsen
No, it hasn’t snow! 🙁 Stop asking. You’re really asking for a bruise cheeks 😠 😄 The sun sets around 3pm here… not sure when the sun rises because I’m still asleep 😁

Sun sets here around 3:30, rises about 8:45 though I can’t see it here until 9:30 because of a hill.😀🌞 Guess you will have a rainy Christmas this year.😁🌧🌧 Imagine, no snow at Christmas, how nice!🤪 Have a wonderful day Jessica!😀😺⛄⛄🎄

No snow is fine, but rain feels like torture 😭
stevescountry
I agree, no snow is fine for me too, even though I won’t get my wish.😂😹
Jessica E. Larsen
Hey, let’s pray that our wishes come true next year 😁

The only way I will get no snow at Christmas is to go somewhere else!😂You have some hope there however to get snow.😀😀

A lovely poem!
I wish I could experience daylight all day, I think is magical 😉
and all that snow, winter wonderland ❄️ ⛄️
Jessica E. Larsen
Isn’t it? I know a lot of people in places with lot of snow like Steve and a couple of friends here in Norway hates them, but for me, winter is not complete without snow.
It truly is magical… daylight all day and veerrry long sunset/sunrise. We went to the North of Norway back around 2009 and I never forget the experience. If you got no watch, you’ll be confuse if it’s night or day.

You said it right: winter is not complete without snow ❄️ Winter means snow ❄️ ⛄️ 😉
I hope I’ll be able to experience it one day too as is really magical! Thank you dear Jess!

Don’t forget to leave lutefisk by the chimney for him to eat. 😀
