Everyone deserves happiness
The year 2020 is unquestionably a tough year for everyone. Lockdowns drained us both physically and mentally. My depression often pushed me down, but like you, I keep going. I keep writing, reading and smiling.

The Japanese (formal) wish this time of year is, “Yoi otoshi o omukae kudasai.”
It translates to English as something like, “Wishes that you may be moved on by a good year.”

I love anime and this somehow pulled me into an obsession with Japanese things. Food, clothes, and even learned a few phrases and sentences. Nothing advance though. 😁

Long story… the product of a cross-cultural exchange (like your family). Born in Japan and lived there off-and-on over the years. But I’m an “American” culturally, and English is my first language. Japan has an interesting and beautiful aesthetic. Understanding what’s behind it all can be a little tricky.
